01/21/2008 An e-mail from Rick of Kansas owner of "Sage" a puppy out of Porter MH QAA and Kisses.
I just wanted to let you know how pleased we are with our puppy. After our last lab passed away, we figured we'd never find one with a similar personality, but we were wrong. The temperment and personality of Sage is just amazing. She is incredibly smart and was very easy to potty train. Of course, alot of that credit goes to the work you had done with her. She loves to retrieve and usually my arm gets tired of throwing before she gets tired of retrieving and amazingly, she brings it straight back to us, because she knows she'll get to go retrieve again! And of course, she is a lover, she loves to please. Don't get me wrong, there are times she is all pup! :) You really have a magical bloodline with Sage's parents (The Cptn's Sierra Shadow Ale MH QAA x lady Kissinger). We would recommend one of your pups to ANYONE. They simply will not be disappointed.
Sincerely,
Rick ____________________________________________________________________________

An e-mail from Ed owner of "Luke" who comes out of AFC Viking x Missy JH breeding.
Hi Darla,
Luke is really becoming a wonderful retriever. He is steady to shot in the duck blind and has been progressing extremely well with his training. Force fetching and collar conditioning has been a breeze. He is very intelligent and little pressure is necessary to achieve the desired response. I am extremely happy with Luke. Here are some recent pictures of Luke.
Best wishes to your family for a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
An e-mail from Brook, owner of "Achillies" out of our Porter MH QAA x Kisses breeding.
Rob and Darla,
Achilles is doing great!!! He is a celebrity at my work and gets to come along 90% of the time. He is retrieving pheasant feathers and well nearly fetch anything I ask him to. He is sitting and doing it at my left side as I have instructed him to, and he comes on command. The potty training has its ups and downs but is doing well. He is very well tempered, you can tell he is and was loved. Thank you for helping me get him. I won't forget you and have referred others to you based on the socialization and love you give your pups, not to mention the great pedigree/look your dogs have. Thanks
Brook

Hi Rob and Darla,
Just took these pictures of Max about 30 minutes ago. Darrel was out playing in the yard with him. He loves to run and play outside. Max is really a great dog and a wonderful addition to our family. You both have been great and we appreciate that you stay in contact with us and are always willing to answer any question we might have.

An E-Mail from Jim of AZ owner of "Jack" a BLM puppy from our SHR Candlewoods Tuggin Cattails SH x Contendors Fat Kid litter.
Hi Darla,
I named our pup "Jack" and he's doing great! He weighs 20 lbs and is full of drive/desire. I came home from quail hunting and threw him some dead bird retrieves. You'd have thought he had died and gone to heaven! He was so excited he could hardly contain himself. My hunting buddies wife was asking about blood lines, dog training, etc... so I was explaining puppy marks to her and teaching dogs through different situations, sight pictures etc... I told her that what seems easy to us puppies can't understand due to their lack of reference/experience. To illustrate, I told her that if I threw the bird over/behind a row of bushes that was about 15 yards away, that the pup would run to the obstacle (bushes) and hunt in front of them for the bird when I had clearly thrown it well beyond them. Well, I threw it there to show her what would happen and darned if Jack didn't run a straight line to the bird - not even pausing at the bushes! In the hundreds of pups that I've worked with, I've never seen anything like it. Jack's marking ability as a 13-14 week old pup is simply incredible. When I finally stopped throwing birds for him, Jack ran around for the next 10 minutes checking and re-checking the area for birds.

An E-mail written to RCL and Mary Tatum DVM Owner of Howdy From Dale of Premier Gundogs Training October 4th 2007
Good afternoon, I thought you would like to see my 2 female pups out of Howdy. I purchased them from RCL Retrievers in Herman NE. My wife and I own and operate Premier Gundogs Training Kennel in NE. The black Female is named "TEAL" and the Choc is named "Suzie" The pictures should tell you how I feel about them as they are only 8 weeks old... They will be my future Hunt Test, Waterfowl and Upland Guide Dogs. "Teal" started out more submissive and retrieved gloves and socks back to me nicely until this week, now she is a little spit fire. "Time for the hallway for a while"
As you can see Suzie retrieves right back to me. Both are VERY CLEAN in the kennel. They both are extremely birdy and aggressive to catch the pigeon and retrieve. I threw a dead pigeon at first and both showed me they were ready to advance to a live one. You can see the results......
Thanks to both of you...... Dale

Hey Darla and Rob,
Just wanted to drop you line and let you know how pleased I am with Liz. She's a marking fool. She'd put any black dog to shame. She not only can run a 70 yd single with a simple change of cover or a slight crosswind,, but she can do a simple double and a delayed triple. Do a little "no, no" drill. She's swam in some pretty cold water for her paint roller. She's sitting quietly until I send her on a mark,(granted my arms are around her while she's on the mat). Has retrieved a live flyer duck at some 50 yds with light cover at 10 weeks.
Needless to say I'm thrilled and can't say enough about the breeding. Thank You....
Amigo is an absolutely wonderful pet. We love him very much. He is a very well-behaved dog considering he is still a puppy. People comment all the time that he is so calm for a lab and beautiful as well. We took him to the vet on Friday to get some more heartworm pillls and he is now 64 pounds and still growing! I have not taken any pictures in awhile, so I will do that this week and I will send them to you.
We have nothing but praise to give to River Creek Labs. We received a healthy, beautiful dog that has become a member of our family. Amigo is very intelligent, eager to please and easy to train. I would definitely recommend RCL to anyone interested in a lab.
"When I began my search for a Chocolate Labrador Retriever in 2006 I narrowed down my list of breeders and ultimately selected River Creek Labs. They had the type started pup I was looking for in "River Creek Labs Zeus" from recent Porter x Kisses breeding.
After many calls and e-mail exchanges I was certain that River Creek Labs was the breeder to work with. Darla and Rob went out of there way to answer the many questions I posed to them about their Sire and Dame pedigrees, traits they breed for, facilities, experience, the list of questions goes on and on. I was exceptionally pleased working with Darla and Rob and would strongly recommend any one looking for a Labrador Retriever for Field/Hunt or Companion to consider River Creek Labs in their breeder selection.
Zeus has been everything they assured me he would be. Conforming build, great temperament, high energy, extremely intelligent, inquisitive and eager to work just to name a few traits! Zeus has been the greatest dog to have around and if not for limited space at home, I'd certainly work with River Creek Labs again hands down.

Hi Darla and Rob,
I just wanted to write and thank you again for our wonderful new puppy. Luke has far exceeded my expectations in appearance and demeanor. He is already a bumper fetching fool and is progressing well with housebreaking. He has handled his transition to our home without any problems and is currently playing with a pheasant wing that I threw. He has brought a lot of happiness to our home. Thanks again...
Best Regards,

Hey Guys, I was just getting back to you about Maggie. She is doing very well and we can't be happier. She is now on blind retrieves an doing better than I would have ever expected. We throw the dummy five to six rows into standing corn and she comes back with it every time. She is as birdyas ever and we can't wait to get her into the field this fall.
Thanks, Nick
