Puppy Guarantee

 All pups purchased from RCL Retrievers carry a Hip and Eye guarantee.  This guarantee covers any genetic HIP/EYE problem that would prevent this animal’s hips from being certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), or the animal’s eyes from being registered with the Canine Eye Registration Foundation, Inc. (CERF). 

 It is impossible to state that any given dog will be completely free of genetic imperfections.  We can guarantee that we breed  physically sound dogs and we have researched the backgrounds of our sires and dams to the best of our abilities.  By doing this, we hope to reduce the odds of producing pups with genetic HIP/EYE problems.  Therefore, we offer this guarantee.

Health Guarantee:  RCL Retrievers guarantees your puppy will be in good health on the date of delivery.  Your puppy has received his 6 week vaccination and is current on wormings.  Immunization and worming records  will be provided to the buyer at delivery.  Your puppy’s dewclaws have been removed at 3 days of age and he/she will be identified with a Avid microchip.  You as the  buyer will have 7 days after you receive your new  puppy to have a qualified veterinarian examine your pup and determine the pup’s state of health.  This is to ensure that your puppy is healthy and free of any genetic disorders upon receipt.  In the event that your puppy is found to have a genetic health problem that cannot be rectified, you will be entitled to a full refund of the purchase price or a replacement puppy from a different breeding.  The puppy must be returned to RCL Retrievers  within seven (7) days at the buyer’s expense along with a veterinarian’s statement detailing the genetic health defect. This health guarantee is applicable to the original Buyer and is non-transferable. 

 30 Month Hip Guarantee:  OFA will only certify dogs who have reached 24 months of age.  For this guarantee to be honored, your dog MUST be x-rayed AND certified within six (6) months of reaching 24 months of age.  X-rays must be done by a BOARD CERTIFIED VETERINARIAN or by our vet and sent into OFA .  If your dog’s hips are rejected(FAIL) by OFA, RCL Retrievers  will replace the defective pup with a pup of similar breeding of equal value and quality.  If the value of the replacement pup is greater than of the original pup, the buyer will pay the difference.  Shipping of the replacement pup will be the responsibility of the buyer.   If your dog has been dignosed with this we do not require you to return the dog, we know that a bond has been formed over this time and if desired we wish the dog to stay part of your family, if you choose to not keep the pup it MUST be returned to us or the contract will be Null and Void.

     •RCL Retrievers  must receive a copy of the x-rays and copy of the OFA findings. 

      • RCL Retrievers must be in the registration name

     •The dog’s microchip number must be noted on the OFA findings.
     • RCL Retrievers must receive proof that the dog has been spayed or neutered.
     • The dog’s AKC papers must be returned and are to be signed over to RCL Retrievers. 
     • A copy of the original guarantee signed by both the seller and buyer must be presented prior to receiving your replacement pup.
     • This guarantee applies only to the original owner and is non-transferable.
     • The dog must have NEVER been Bred.
     • The OFA is the sole judge regarding hip dysplasia.

 

 12 Month Eye Guarantee:  CERF will certify pups as early as 6 weeks of age.  For this guarantee to be in effect, the pup’s eyes must be certified by the time the dog reaches one (1) year of age.  Diagnosis of eyes must be made by a BOARD CERTIFIED CANINE OPHTHALMOLOGIST and submitted to CERF.  If your pup’s eyes are rejected by CERF, RCL Retrievers  will replace the defective pup with a pup of similar breeding and equal value and quality.  If the value of the replacement pup is greater than of the original pup, the buyer will pay the difference.  Shipping of the replacement pup will be the responsibility of the buyer. If your dog has been dignosed with this we do not require you to return the dog, we know that a bond has been formed over this time and if desired we wish the dog to stay part of your family, if you choose to not keep the pup it MUST be returned to us or the contract will be Null and Void.

All dogs are sold in good faith and no dog is sold for any specific reason nor guaranteed  as a brood bitch, stud dog, field trial or hunt test competitor. 

It is understood that the above guarantees only covers any congenital, hereditary defects and if any injury, illness or death caused by neglect or abuse after receipt of the dog by the buyer will void this guarantee.  All veterinary fees, transportation costs and OFA and CERF application fees are the responsibility of the Buyer. 

In the event you are not able to care for your puppy we ALWAYS welcome back them to us.  We ask to be notified of new owners in the event that you ever sell your pup.  We like to keep track of our puppies.
